Anyone who loves apples will surely enjoy these meatballs. The ground beef is mixed with applesauce before frying to absorb its full flavor. Then, the meatballs are drenched with tomato soup-based sauce to keep them moist and juicy.

Ingredients
1 Egg, lightly beaten
½ cup unsweetened Applesauce
1 cup soft Breadcrumbs
1 tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper
1 lb. Ground beef
1 can (10 ¾ oz.) Condensed tomato soup, undiluted
- ¼ cup Water
½ tsp. Sugar
½ tsp. Prepared horseradish
3 to 5 drops of Worcestershire sauce
3 to 5 drops of Hot pepper sauce
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
Mix egg, applesauce, and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Crumble ground beef over the mixture and mix well. Shape into 1 ½” diameter meatballs.
In a large skillet, gently cook the meatballs until browned. Once cooked, drain excess oil and transfer to a standard-sized baking dish.
- Combine tomato soup, water, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and prepared horseradish to make the sauce. Pour over meatballs.
Cover the baking dish and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 160 °F.
