Ingredients
½ cup melted butter
4 fluid ounces bourbon whiskey, divided
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 pound cleaned and dried sea scallops
1 tsp brown sugar
½ tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1/4 cup butter, 2 ounces of bourbon, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sea scallops should be fried in a heated butter-bourbon mixture for 2 to 3 minutes per side until caramelized and almost done.
Drain any excess liquid from the skillet before placing the scallops on a platter.
