½ cup of water
1 cup lemon juice
½ cup mint leaves, fresh
½ cup bourbon, optional
4 cups ginger ale
Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves (optional)

Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and mint leaves. Stir in the bourbon if desired.
