Bourbon butter is the perfect way to add a little something extra to your recipes for Father's Day. This rich, flavorful butter is made with real bourbon whiskey, which gives it a deep amber color and distinctive flavor.
It's perfect for sauteing corn and cauliflower and makes an excellent topping for grilled meats or baked potatoes. Best of all, it's easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp cayenne pepper
1 (15 oz.) can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14.5 oz.) can of small diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce can
¼ cup bourbon
¼ cup of maple syrup
1 cup of water (optional)
Directions
Over medium-high heat, brown the meat in a large soup pot. Using a wooden spoon, shred the beef. Mix in the onion. Cook, stirring periodically, for 6-8 minutes. Then cook thoroughly. If required, drain any excess fat.
In a pan, combine garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
Then add the beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, bourbon, and maple syrup
If you like a thinner chili, add up to 1 cup of water instead. Stir thoroughly and bring the water to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat to a low or medium-low setting.
Simmer, stirring periodically, for 30 minutes.
Allow the chili to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
