Many opt for the simplest solution when designing a kitchen with plenty of wood — purchasing solid wood cabinets. However, this isn't your only choice. You can create a definite rustic vibe in your home by lining your shelves and ceiling with wood.

The wood accents work best with the white spaces in this Yana Prydalna-designed Wabi-sabi kitchen. The dead-standing cedar trees used to make the chairs were harvested in Northwest Montana.

2. Rach's Black and White Dreamy Kitchen

Creating a sleek, modern kitchen with black and white decor is easy. You can see how great it appears in this modern, open-concept area, where the color scheme complements the room's softer elements.

If you think your ideas for black-and-white kitchens are too daring, you could look for kitchen island ideas with a black island. If you've ever wondered how to make a small kitchen look bigger, this is a great way to do it, especially if the counters are white. It creates a unique and striking atmosphere.

3. Sherrie's Pop of Dark Kitchen Island

You can experiment with new colors without going too far from your comfort zone by adding touches of dark to your white kitchen.

The island is a good place to start if you're nervous about using color in the kitchen. Its separate location won't detract from the chic appearance of your all-white countertops, cabinets, and backsplash. A dark color island is greeted with open arms by a white countertop.

In contrast with the usual shiny and smooth surfaces of kitchen countertops, a round glass light pendant from Circa Lighting and white appliances provide a tactile focal point. At the same time, bar stools from Hati Home unify the kitchen decor with lots of greenery and flowers.

4. Carrie Delany's Magical Kitchen Remodel

Carrie Delany is working on several new projects, but this kitchen makeover is truly stunning! The ceiling features and the windows' design are among the most amazing aspects of this captivating kitchen.

Casement windows are very common for kitchen windows over a sink since they are easy to open and close, even in difficult-to-reach places. Adding casement windows above the sink is an aesthetically beautiful yet practical approach to maximizing space that is sometimes underutilized.

The light wood herringbone floor in the kitchen supports the brown kitchen island. The white and gray marble countertop and the gold and brown fixtures are complemented by light brown wicker chairs and wooden stools.

Try painting your kitchen island blue if you want to inject some color and contrast into your space without having to redecorate it completely. Nearly every hue of blue looks beautiful when combined with standard kitchen components, such as white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, wood floors, and ceiling beams.

A shade of powdered blue is used on the island in this kitchen, and it is complemented with bright gold accents that you can find on the faucets, glass pendants, and other accessories. Adding houseplants to a room is a quick and easy way to spruce up your decor, and growing plants indoors can also have some practical applications in the kitchen.

Again, this is a look for those who like black kitchens but want the space to feel light and airy. It's really simple: keep everything else in your white kitchen bright and crisp - the walls, the floors, and the worktop. The monochromatic look is a classic and undoubtedly the most popular way to incorporate black kitchen decor.

Blanc Marine designed the countertops and marble with gray backsplash detailings. The cabinetry is a stunning combination of dark but lovely colors, while the combination of carpeting and laminate wooden flooring is truly unique. Blanc Marine interiors also include rustic pots and displays to complete the look.

If you don't mind the 'high maintenance' that marble entails, consider using it for both the kitchen backsplash and the island countertop to give the space a more curated and refined look, as Kimberley did with this kitchen.

Modern window design is not only limited by the imagination, thanks to new technology that provides both style and energy efficiency. Large glass panels with few grilles and minimal decoration are typical of this window style.

We love the dark herringbone tiles in this kitchen. These tiles also look great in a bathroom, especially if you like an ultra-modern home decor theme. Kimberley creates a beautiful kitchen by combining traditional home decor elements with modern home decor accents.

The most recent development in interior design is the trend of installing dark cabinets in kitchens. At least in kitchen design, numerous homeowners believe that black is the new white.

The use of polished wooden flooring and ceiling to contrast a black kitchen is an excellent way to make the space stand out. This gorgeous kitchen is breathtaking from every vantage point, from the enormous light fixtures to the exposed ceiling to the glossy black island. Additionally, Raili Clasen complemented the whole look with the wooden kitchen stool.

With the help of the white tile countertop and wood flooring, the light mint paint color used in blogger Louise's tiny kitchen creates an effortlessly cool aesthetic.

The Butler sinks featured here have a classic design that has stood the test of time, making them a popular choice for both retro and contemporary kitchens. They were created for the use of household staff in affluent homes, and today they are highly sought after due to their enduring popularity, refined aesthetic, and spacious interiors.

Louise finishes the look by arranging several clear glass bottles on her kitchen windowsill, each holding a single flower.

10. Devol Kitchen's Bespoke Gray Kitchen

This building was constructed in Art Deco style in the heart of London's fashionable Queen's Park. Devol's Kitchen is known for its quality Shaker-style furniture. The walls were paneled in gorgeous wood and painted a custom grey to complement them.

Aside from the cupboards in the kitchen, we were impressed by the interesting combination of new and old furniture here. Devol's favorite pieces were the authentic cane and wicker chairs purchased on eBay.

The room's minimalistic furniture, lighting, walls, and doorway give it a sophisticated air.

Conclusion

We hope you've found a kitchen design style that suits your tastes. The great thing about kitchens is that they can be remodeled when you tire of your current design or if an updated or more modern look is desired. Even if you're committed to a particular approach, it might be possible to include eclectic elements that create a bolder look.
